On March 21st 2013, one feature film will screen in cinemas across the USA. Audiences at each venue will be asked the question. Should this film receive one week’s theatrical release at this cinema? South Africa’s movie, ‘Searching for Sugarman’ won an Oscar for Best Documentary.
The documentary received a lot of applause and seemed to be popular with the people at the Oscars. Swedish director, Malik Bendjelloul, and producer, Simon Chinn, were on hand to accept the Oscar.

The Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) has been named as the 2012 recipient of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences multi-year grant for its African Pictures program to be presented during the annual festival.
