Warsame Shire Awale was gunned down by unknown assailants near his home on Monday evening.

Warsame had received death threats because of his work and songs calling for people to join the police, according to the National Union of Somali Journalists.
Mr Awale, who was in his 60s, is the 18th person to have worked in the media to be killed this year in Somalia. Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for killing at least 10 of them.
Shire Arwale leaves behind two wives and several children, including daughter Ayaan, an up-and-coming Somali singer.
