Sira, 22, is a senior finance major attending Georgia State
University, originally from Guinea, West Africa. Sira spent much of
her childhood in West Africa until her parents decided to move her
family to Georgia to give them more opportunities in their lives. Not
one to let her parents down, Sira takes her studies very seriously.
Although most of the cast members are strangers, Sira knows there will
be one friendly face in the house as she and Ashley L. are best

Nigerian music superstar, 2face Idibia without a doubt is one of the most noticeable African artists of recent times. His smooth lyrics and pretty boy looks makes him the desire of many young girls across the globe. According to reports in Nigeria, the young star has given in to the desires of the bevy of ladies who flock around him, while satisfying his own desires in the process. Three girls have informed him that they are carrying his babies, although 2face whose real name is Innocent Ujah Idiba is indifferent about their claims. Information has it that about late December, the first of the ladies informed him that she was pregnant but he never took it seriously. Late February, two others came up with similar stories. According to the story, 2face tried to persuade his baby mamas to be to get rid of the ‘unwanted’ pregnancies but the ladies refused. Maybe Mr Innocent isn’t all that innocent. Olu Maintain has come out of the shadows to state his claim in the Nigerian hip-hop industry. His single, “Yahoozee” has been the surprise hit of the year and it making waves in other African countries as well. The controversies surrounding the single perhaps catapulted the song to this feat. Many people think that the song adores online swindling (or yahoozee as it is known in Nigeria), an activity some people say Olu partakes in. For many lovers of African music, the rich highlife sounds and rythyms of West Africa is best enjoyed when played live with a band. This, however, is far from what prevails in Ghana’s contemporary music culture. Live band music has taken a nosedive in Ghana, giving way to electronically engineered sounds and rhythms which usually lack the culture and essence of true Ghanaian music. The rich highlife sound created by great musicians such as E.T Mensah is almost extinct. The objective of “Bands Alive” therefore is to bring this amazing art form back to live.
