Azumah Vs. Fenech III

Written by Ameyaw Debrah | June 19, 2008 | Leave a Comment

When I saw Rocky Balboa, I thought that such geriatric exhibition matches only exist in Hollywood but boy was I wrong! It seems almost anything is possible in boxing these days. And the return of two of the game’s former great into the rings is one that takes some believing. Africa’s only boxing hall of famer, Azumah Nelson ‘The professor’ due to his vast knowledge of the art of boxing, is legend number one. While Australia’s once tough-as-nails Jeff Fenech ‘The Thunder from Down Under’ is legend number two.

Kwaw Kesse Turns Model

Written by Ameyaw Debrah | June 16, 2008 | Leave a Comment

Kwaw Kesse, 2008 Ghana Music Award artist of the year, has signed up as a model at Ghana’s leading modelling agency, Exopa. This really isn’t much of a surprise as the ‘crazy’ hiplife artist has proven time and again that he is capable of doing almost anything. Kwaw has always dressed to suit to occasion and nothing says ‘model behaviour’ more than that. During a Christmas show, he showed up dressed as Santa Clause with a bag of goodies for his audience and during the CAN 2008 tournament; he performed in a football jersey and a football. Kwaw doesn’t just dress for the occasion but also comes with the right accessories. LOL!

Stars of the Future Strike 3

Written by Ameyaw Debrah | June 2, 2008 | Leave a Comment

Stars of the Future, Ghana’s answer to American Idol, continues to be one of the most relevant and well followed talent hunts in the country. After a triumphant first season, Charter House the producers of TV reality series realised the huge demand for urban music in Ghana and therefore returned with relative success in season two. Justice Nhyira Owen won season two but unlike his predecessor, Irene Logan, he is yet to make an impact a year after winning the competition. Justice is a very talented artist but perhaps his dilemma is that, as a gospel inclined musician it is difficult to have a successful urban gospel album because Ghanaians love their traditional gospel music.
