The nominees for the maiden Nollywood Movies Awards (NMA) have been announced at a press conference at the Lagos Ikeja Hotel (Best Western), where the full list of categories and nominees were revealed. The highlights of the ceremony will be screened later on Nollywood Movies (SKY Channel 329) and on other notable platforms.

Yemi Blaq replaces Eamonn Walker on ‘ Sinking Sands’

Nigerian actor Yemi Blaq joined the cast of the psychological drama “Sinking Sands,” which wrapped up a few weeks ago, replacing British actor Eamonn Walker in the supporting role of Dr. Zach Matthews. Though Mr. Walker had to bow out of the supporting role due to scheduling conflict, he is expected to make a cameo appearance in the film, with scenes to be shot at a later date.

Iniobongo (Ini) Edo – Superstar Nollywoodienne
Qui est Ini Edo? Elle est une star Nollywoodienne, une actrice Nigérienne qui a réussi une carrière a un très jeune age. Née dans l’état d’Akwa Ebom au Nigeria, elle n’a que vingt-cinq ans, mais elle a un talent remarquable. Sa carrière était lance avec son rôle dans le film “L’enfant du Destin.” Elle a joué dans plusieurs films, et elle a eu une nomination de meilleure actrice aux Académies Awards Africains (AAMA). L’union d’acteurs Nigérien l’a interdit de filmer pendant un ans pour une soi-disant violation d’éthique professionnel. La jeune vedette a expliqué l’interdiction dans un entretien avec le magazine Vanguard le 25 août 2007. Elle a déclaré qu’elle avait travaillé pendant vingt-quatre heures sans arrêt, et elle a quitté la scène à trois heures du matin puisqu’elle se sentait malade. La sexy, charismatique, et défiante Ini Edo est contente que l’interdiction ait été retire. Mais ce n’est pas la première fois qu’elle se trouve au centre du scandale; sa manière de parler et de s’habiller a parfois choqué le public au Nigeria. Maintenant, hors de la une, elle révise des scriptes et elle décidera les films qu’elle tournera bientôt.
