Fast growing Ghanaian film writer/producer/director  Shirley Frimpong-Manso decided to include the most glamorous ghosts yet out of Africa in her much anticipated fourth production, ‘A Sting In A Tale’. And for me, this very much represented the general feel-good theme of the movie; it is one for laughs and not taking life too seriously.

Morgan Freeman stars as Nelson Mandela in the new ‘Invictus’ movie

Any individual who has studied South African history can positively state that Rugby has been, and still is, a very important element of the South African journey.  It has been more than century but I find it very hard for any soul to forget the major sport event that united South African people as whole thanks to the then newly elected and first black president, Nelson Mandela, and the then South African Rugby Captain, Francois Pienaar, played in the movie by Matt Damon.

‘I Sing of a Well’, the beginning of a beautiful African Trilogy

Written by Ameyaw Debrah | November 12, 2009 | Leave a Comment

As I watched and enjoyed the new movie written, directed and co-produced by Hollywood documentary film maker, Leila Djansi, it was the element of good storytelling that made the film stand out for me the most. ‘I Sing of a Well’ is the first installment in the trilogy, ‘Legion of Slaves’ which tells the story of slave trade triggered by the director’s experience at a slave site in her village in the Volta Region of Ghana.
