So Do You Think She Can Dance?

20 year old Nigerian native Comfort Fedoko is one of the first Africans to make it to the reality show “So You Think You Can Dance“, after being eliminated then called back to replace fellow dancer King after a serious injury. Fedoke who admitted to not having as much dancing experience as the other contestants vowed to give it her all. Critics predict that her appearance on the show won’t last for long due to her lack of dancing history.

Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebration might have began early in London but today is actually the legend’s official birthday. At 90 year’s old it actually makes sense that there is only so little wishes that one can ask for themselves but a lot they can wish upon the world. Why, oh why, can’t we be on time? This Day had it’s highly publicized show in Nigeria over the weekend and boasted a roster of great names. Unfortunately most of them were not showcased as the show started 5 hours late. Africans actually waited 5 hours to watch the show….we are incredibly tolerant.

Rihanna and Jay-Z perform at Thisday FestivalOr maybe it was the fact that each person paid up to 60,000 naira (about $580) to get a seat. Either way, I know I would be demanding my money back, a freebie, or a chance to go backstage and get autographs! Give me something! » Read more…

Omega Bugemebe Okello raises money for surgical beds by singing in benefit concerts and Riz donates money from some of his albums to raise money for a water charity. A new group of men has come up with an innovative way to raise money for different needs on the continent–partying for a good cause. Stephen Munabo and Kevin Ousman from the organization Men from Africa, granted Jamati an interview to talk about the creative way they aim to make a difference in the lives of Africans in the diaspora, and on the continent.
