Fahreed Khimani, a presenter on M-Net’s Studio 53, held a traditional Indian wedding for friends and family in Kenya. Fahreed had already tied the knot with his bride, Leah, in Switzerland at the end of June this year.

The African Festival of the Arts, in Chicago, Illinois will be treated to a show by George Clinton, founder of the Parliament-Funkadelic MOB. The African Festival of the Arts in Chicago has been going on since Friday September 4, 2009 and has featured some very talented performers, both African and African-American.

‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ to Be Made Into A Film
Chimamanda Adichie’s novel, Half of a Yellow Sun is soon to be introduced to audiences on the big screen. Speaking at a recent book signing in Australia, Chimamanda noted that she would not be involved in any aspect of the movie production. She did note that she expects that the storyline will remain true to the book as the production team that produced ‘The Last King of Scotland’ will be producing this film.

Jonathan Butler takes Fans On A Moonlight Cruise
The Spirit of New York Jazz moonlight cruise series brought on board the Grammy nominated songwriter, guitarist and singer Jonathan Butler to the stage at sea. The multi-level cruise ship was filled with an after work crowd rocking to the jazzy tunes of Butler and band on July 27th, a rainy Wednesday evening. The paparazzi were front and center as the audience listened to Jonathan’s melodies and remained engaged with his intrinsic guitar skills.

Girl Power “What a Feeling” Tour ‘09
Two years after Girl Power “Unleashed” made its debut in Lagos, the all female artists concert is back with fresh and newly established artists warming up for the second edition billed to kick off later this month in Lagos. Unlike the first edition that was hosted only in Lagos, this year’s concert titled, “What a Feeling” will tour three major cities– Lagos, Ibadan and Benin–between August and September.
