Lucky Dube’s Killers Found Guilty
Lucky Dube, the famous reggae star, was gunned down in a carjacking in 2007. The gunmen responsible for his death have been apprehended and were found guilty of shooting him dead.
African Films at Howard Community College
Howard Community College is slated to showcase a series of great African films from March 30 to April 3, 2009. The African Film Festival is free to the public and will be shown at the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center at Howard Community College.
9ice Rocks Ghana to ‘Gongo Aso’

9ice, born Abolore Akande, has earned international recognition for his hit song, ‘Gongo Aso’, winning him the MOBO award for best African act in 2008, and a performance for Mandela at his 46664 Birthday Concert. Ghana gets a Music Video Awards
For the first time in the history of Ghanaian entertainment, an award ceremony that fully rewards artists and directors of music videos took place in Ghana. The maiden edition of the 4syte Music Video Awards came last Saturday at the Accra International Conference amidst fantastic musical performances and cheerful jubilations. Since this was the first ever music video awards, it was dedicated to celebrating the most creative concepts and direction from years 2000- 2007. Therefore it was not as competitive as many would have liked it to be.

Worlds of the Indian Ocean, a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Aga Khan University was held at the Kenya National Museum in Nairobi. Concerts, exhibits, film screenings and cultural performances were some of the activities in the week-long event with the theme, Connecting The Past to The Future.
