A Voyeur Africa: The Return of Big Brother

The most intrusive reality TV series in the world, Big Brother makes a glorious return to Africa. As the world said goodbye to the Olympic Games on Sunday August 24, Africa said hello to season 3 of Big Brother Africa (BBA3). For the next 96 days, viewers across Africa will intrude into the lives of 12 housemates selected from 12 African countries on DSTV.

For a reward of 100,000 US dollars, these 12 housemates will plot and scheme as well as let themselves loose under the watchful eyes of millions of viewers. Everyone’s favourite ‘shower hour’ will certainly have people up early and staying glued to their TV sets. The often steamy session of BBA has gradually created a voyeur continent out of Africa and in fact many people criticised Big Brother Nigeria for not showing housemates taking their shower. So Do You Think She Can Dance?

20 year old Nigerian native Comfort Fedoko is one of the first Africans to make it to the reality show “So You Think You Can Dance“, after being eliminated then called back to replace fellow dancer King after a serious injury. Fedoke who admitted to not having as much dancing experience as the other contestants vowed to give it her all. Critics predict that her appearance on the show won’t last for long due to her lack of dancing history.

Isaac Gets Hired!

After 18 weeks of the Apprentice Africa, Isaac Kwabena Dankyi-Koranteng one of Ghana’s representatives to the business reality series was the one to hear the renowned catchphrase “You are hired” from the CEO, Biodun Shobanjo. Isaac beat the eloquent and clever US-based Nigerian born Eunice Omole for the enviable prize package including a $200,000 annual salary job at Bank PHB and a luxurious car.
