The MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) with Zain were off the chain this year. Wyclef Jean was in the house with several of the best artists in contemporary African music today. Akon was one of the guest performers and the audience was treated to a class-A performance.
For some reason though, Akon and Wyclef stripped to their skivvies. Guess it was all in good fun, but I wonder how many parents made their children turn off the television. Jonathan Butler takes Fans On A Moonlight Cruise
The Spirit of New York Jazz moonlight cruise series brought on board the Grammy nominated songwriter, guitarist and singer Jonathan Butler to the stage at sea. The multi-level cruise ship was filled with an after work crowd rocking to the jazzy tunes of Butler and band on July 27th, a rainy Wednesday evening. The paparazzi were front and center as the audience listened to Jonathan’s melodies and remained engaged with his intrinsic guitar skills.

Tay Grin In UK to Promote New Album
Malawian hip-hop sensation, Tay Grin’s music mesmerised many Malawians who gathered at London’s Club Afrique last Friday and Saturday, according to the rapper.
Grin, who missed out on Malawi’s Big Brother Africa II’s (BBA II) representative, CODE Sangala’s Kapirintiya launch of the Tradistic Soul album (attended the same evening at the Fresh Cultural Center in Blantyre, Malawi. It was attended by two other BBA II representatives–Bertha and Maxwell), is in the UK to promote his new album that launches in Blantyre on August 7. He told the BBC Network Africa on Tuesday that he respected the way the fans responded to his two shows in the UK.
