Meet producer Selasi ‘The African Kid’ Duse
Atlanta-based, Ghana-born Selasi Duse is a musical talent well noticed for incorporating a lot of diversity into his music. Now sporting the Moniker ‘The African Kid’, Selasi traveled all over Africa as a child, setting foot everywhere, from Cameroon to Nigeria, and Malawi to South Africa. His journeys around the world enabled him to pick up different music influences, and he incorporates a lot of elements from these cultures in his work.

Born Shingai Elizabeth Maria Shoniwa, she is a Zimbabwean native who grew up with a single mother in South London and is best know as the front woman for the UK-based Indie Rock band, the “Noisettes.The “Noisettes” is a three-piece band consisting of Dan Smith on lead guitar/vocals, Jamie Morrison on drums, and Africa’s very own Shingai Shoniwa on Vocals/bass guitar. With years of music experience but only three years of being together as a band, “Noisettes” is already making big waves both in the UK and the USA. Recently the band performed on the Wendy William’s show in promotion of their self-titled album, “Noisettes“.

David Mensah out with ‘Music is The Food of Love’
UK’s new R&B sensation, David Mensah continues to rise after his song ‘Food of Love’ was released through Universal Music in 2008. ‘Food of Love’ was his contribution to a compilation album called “A Change is Gonna Come” which was recorded to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade.
Born to a Ghanaian father and a British mother, David draws from an eclectic mix of influences from all over the world when it comes to his music. He has been called the UK version of Avant while others draw comparisons to John Legend. Then again, some people have even mentioned Luther Vandross in their description of the music that he makes. “I never really go in to the studio with a set brief, I prefer to keep an open mind and let the song happen organically.
