Chris DeShield releases ‘Wickedest Whine’ Video.

Chris DeShield recently released a song that he wrote for Cadsongs, called ‘Wickedest Whine’ which has been a big hit, especially in the East African market.  The original song is produced by K’Nel of Anglohili, and Mugo Nganga of Waithaka Entertainment, this song has gotten a heavy rotation on Kenyan stations and received lots of great reviews.  This remix version is courtesy of DJ Snake from Cape Verde/Portugal.

Museke Online Africa Music Awards 2011- Call For Submissions

Museke, Inc. is proud to formally announce the upcoming second annual Museke Online Africa Music Awards (MOAMAs), which are set to culminate in September 2011. Artists, record labels, producers and their respective representatives are invited to submit entries for the various categories in order to be eligible. Music that was released and received airplay beginning anytime from January 1 2010 to 1 January 2011 is eligible for consideration and entry. Once again, the voter’s academy will comprise of influential and respected industry figureheads, including DJs. All MOAMAs categories are open to African artists based on the continent as well as those in the diaspora. Artists may be nominated through the “nominate” link on Museke’s website.

The Vuyani Dance Theater (VDT) Project has garnered international recognition, thanks to it’s Founder/Artistic Director, Gregory Maqoma.    The website states that VDT is meeting “its artistic objective of producing work that questions and challenges social values while, simultaneously, exploiting history as a launch pad for (material) research and development.”  A deep undertaking indeed for an entertainment company.
