Quins Held By KCB In Thrilling Encounter
KCB 13 – Quins 13. A dubiuos last minute try awarded by referee Tony Ndong denied the Quins victory in a game they totally dominated. Jude Thumbi seemed to have forgotten his kicking boots on a ground he loves to hate as he missed 5 penalties before finally hitting the mark. The draw leaves Quins in fourth place but very much charging up the table. Try scorer: Leslie Libasia, Conversion: Jude Thumbi, Penalties (2) Jude Thumbi. Man of Match: George Odipo.

Africas Premier Rugby tournament: The Tusker Safari Sevens
Africa’s Premier Rugby tournament, the Tusker Safari Sevens, comes alive this weekend again in Nairobi Kenya. The event, in its 13th year of existence, sees 16 top class teams chase for honors once again. This years tournament is in itself a milestone as rugby 7’s powerhouses step into Nairobi for the first time ever to take part in this tournament. One can remember that 3 years ago Fijian rugby great, Waisale Serevi, graced the tournament where he played for Kenya Shujaa as a guest player. France and Japan will be making their second appearance in Kenya and going nothing short of victory. (The last time the French were here, they almost never left F2. This time they aim to succeed!)
Football is for the Masses…Or is it??
I refuse to stop in my criticism of African football national associations and the continental body that unites them: the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Aside from their incessant squabbling over who gets to attend FIFA workshops and congresses, or enriching themselves by illegally selling their match tickets to global competitions, a la Ismail Bhamjee of Botswana, they hardly seem to put a foot right. Indeed, nations should be held accountable for bringing their stadia and supporting facilities up to reputable par, but few will do so without the promptings of CAF. » Read more…

Kenya’s Harlequins See Mwamba Snatch Victory at Death
So close yet so far is what the result could have been termed after last weekends heart-wrenching loss to Mwamba. The game in itself a classic only marred by low quality refereeing yet again. The game began at cracking pace with both sides sizing each other. Quins were the first to score and, at the breather, were 7-0 ahead. » Read more…
Egypt Fights For It’s Right to Keep The Cup
In a splendid match between Cameroon and Egypt, Egypt finally won with a goal in the 77th minute. Egypt showed remarkable control throughout the game, reminding people why they were considered the best in the league. Egyptians celebrated their win with jubilant dancing in the streets, and honking of horns. Cameroon played it’s best but was no real match for the Egyptians who have shown remarkable discipline and great team play in all their games. As an aside, Egypt is the only team that has an African coach. Maybe the other teams may have better luck if they follow suit. » Read more…
Egypt to meet Cameroon in Finals
In what was another spectacular game, Egypt beat Ivory Coast 4-1. The Egyptian Pharaohs knelt prostrate in thanks after scoring and showed why they are still the team to be watched in the games. Goalkeeper, Essam Al-Hadari was brilliant in preventing several great attempts at a goal by the Ivoriens. Ahmed Fathi put the pressure on 12 minutes into the game with the first goal for Egypt. Ahmed Faki scored the second one in the second half. The Ivoriens responded with a great 25-yard strike by Amr Zaki but it was not enough. » Read more…
