Ubah Hassan – Vogue Italia Got It Right
Ubah Hassan, a Somalian model, was chosen to be part of the historic issue of Vogue Italia which featured some of the hottest names in the model world. She held her own among famous names like Alek Wek and Liya Kebede, and proved she has what it takes to be a model icon.
She signed with Click Management Agency in New York in 2007 and was the model of the week on Models.com in May of 2008. In July of 2008 she was one of the models in the black issue of Vogue Italia (not bad for a newcomer). She closed Ralph Lauren’s spring show in New York and is now part of a Ralph Lauren ad campaign. Camilla Barungi is a Ugandan supermodel who was featured on Project Runway, Season 3. Laura Bennett, considered Camilla her muse, and, looking at her clear complexion, legs that go on forever, and doe-shaped eyes, one can understand why.
Camilla Barungi’s past is one that was filled with sights related to the horrors of war and fighting in Uganda. Sera Lubowa – Miss Uganda 2007
Sera Lubowa was born in Kampala, Uganda, moved to Paris, France when she was 6 years old, and then moved to Texas to live with her mother who had moved away earlier. At age 7, she enrolled in Kendal Dance Studio to learn Ballet and Jazz. She helped create the L.D. Bell Steppers at L.D. Bell High school, led them to the Legacy of Champions, and enrolled in the KD Studio Actors Conservatory while she was in high school.
She was discovered during a club photo shoot and introduced to modeling. Crowned Miss Uganda 2007-2008, she has gone on to use her fame to draw attention to foundations like Invisible Children, Children on a Mission, and KACI&I. To learn more about her, visit her website.
Hawa Ahmed – Winner of Next Top Model Sweden 2007
Hawa Ahmed competed in the Swedish Next Top Model competition and walked away the grand prize winner. It is no surprise that she won, as she is beautiful, graceful, and intelligent.

She has also walked for Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, and Yves Saint Laurent, and been part of the 2006 Gap campaign.
