Written by Prudence Chauke | July 22, 2009 | Leave a Comment

From the moment I entered the “Park Room” which is the venue where the event was held, I couldn’t help but inhale the success waiting to happen as my eyes partook of the beauty that surrounded me. From the classiness and the boldness of the venue, to the diversity I noticed from those present who, like me, could barely wait for the moment of truth as the excitement of the show built up.

For the folks who love reality television, you are going to love this contestant.  She has managed to get the forums spewing hate (must mean that she is drop-dead gorgeous), and is a transplant from Russia.  Born to a Russian mother and Nigerian father, she has been featured in several music videos, predominantly with R. Kelly, and has been in Motorsports Magazine, Jet Magazine, and Rolling Out Magazine.

She was on VH1’s reality series, ‘For The Love Of Ray-J‘ where she has managed to stay in the running for a long time against other girls vying for Ray J’s heart (and money).  She was abruptly eliminated when he found out that her photographer was also her manager and that she was on the show for exposure and a career boost. » Read more…

Ghana Fashions Weekend: Ziami moment lost in transit

Written by Ameyaw Debrah | July 6, 2009 | Leave a Comment

The much anticipated showcasing of Boris Kodjoe’s Ziami clothing line at the Ghana Fashion Week 2009 could not materialize because he was unable to get his clothing line transported to Ghana before the close of the 4-day event. His presence throughout the event days, however, was met with complete admiration by the Ghanaian people, many of whom tried disparately to get a photo moment with the model/actor and designer.

The Accra International Conference Centre, venue for the Ghana Fashion Weekend dazzled with celebrities, and the glitz and glamour of high fashion from July 1-4, as dozens of designers from around the globe showcased chic, elegant, and some eccentric creations. The fashion event brought together established and upcoming designers from all over Africa including the likes of Modela (Nigeria), Alphadi (Niger), Boris Kodjoe (U.S.A), (Burkina Faso), Bazem Se (Burkina Faso), Morenikeji Agoro (Nigeria), Ousmane Doumbia (Cote Divoire), Amadou Diop (Senegal), Behen Parfait (Cameroon), Patrick Asso (Cote Divoire), and Dady De Maximo (Rwanda). » Read more…
