The blooming Senegalese R&B singer is expected to perform at the event being organised by Liberia’s giant mobile company, Cellcom in a bid to entertain its numerous subscribers. Mr. Jlateh Public Relations manager for Cellcom told a news conference in the capital that the visit of Aliuane Badara Thiam, better known as Akon, was intended to add new dimension to the company’s operation in Liberia.

Akon is expected to arrive on April 15 in the company of a 14 man delegation, and his own musical equipment. Certainly our brothers in Liberia are going to enjoy every bit of Akon’s unique style and voice. I bet that most of the Liberian refugees in Ghana who are waiting to be repatriated would be hoping that the repatriation exercise would happen before April 15 so they can also be a part of concert. But I have a feeling that they would first need to buy themselves a Cellcom phone. LOL!
