Isha Sesay – Sierra Leone | Host, Inside Africa and Host, Your World Today
Isha Sesay reports for Inside Africa, and also anchors a daily global news program, Your World Today. Her journalism career has included her covering the kidnapping of Margaret Hill, the toddler that disappeared, the election of Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the Israeli-Hezbollah war and the death of Jon Benet Ramsey, among others.
Sesay joined CNN in November 2005 from the UK broadcaster ITN, where she anchored ITV’s Early Morning News programme, as well news bulletins for the UK’s most watched breakfast programme ‘GMTV.’ She was previously on Sky Sports on the ‘Good Morning Sports Fans’ show.
Lola Ogunnaike – Nigeria | Entertainment correspondent/American Morning
Prior to joining CNN, Ogunnaike was the top culture reporter for The New York Times and spearheaded its entertainment coverage, writing profiles of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Oprah Winfrey and Sting for the paper’s “Arts and Leisure” section. She has worked for NOW, Rolling Stone, New York, Glamour, Details, Nylon, the New York Observer, and V Magazine. You might have spotted her on air on MTV, VH1, or NBC’s Today Show. Ebony magazine named her one of “150 Most Influential Blacks in America” in May 2007.
Zain Verjee – Kenya | State Department Correspondent
Verjee returned to her native country of Kenya in January 2008 to cover the post-election violence there and even took a tear gas canister in the back as she was reporting. She reports for “New Diplomat,” that examines the issues affecting U.S. diplomats and their families. She has co-anchored Your World Today and CNN International’s newscasts. I suspect she has a penchant for danger because she has covered several dangerous breaking news events, including the India-Pakistan Agra Summit, the terrorist attacks, the Hajj, the war in Iraq, and the trial of former Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic. She speaks English, Gujarati, conversational French, and Kiswahili and works with Street Children and Operation Smile.
Have you noticed that they are gorgeous. Some have dubbed them the CNN babes, but don’t get it twisted, these sisters have a serious brain behind all that beauty! You can read more about them on the CNN website.
