Kwame was one of Ghana’s most popular actors with appearances in over 60 films and several TV productions including ‘The Visitor’, ‘A Stab in the Dark’, ‘Okukuseku 1&2’, ‘Evil Forest’, ‘Frozen Emotion’, ‘Errors of the Past’, ‘He is Mine 1&2’, ‘End of the Road’ and ‘Wedding Day’. Kwame was also well received in Nigeria, where he starred beside several of the top Nollywood stars. It was therefore not surprising that several of his Nigerian colleagues attended his funeral and even paid glowing tribute to him through the Nigerian Actors Guild.

Kwame Owusu Ansah was a man of many dimensions who contributed in diverse ways towards the development of Ghana’s growing entertainment industry. He first came into the limelight as a radio presenter in Accra and Kumasi, where he was affectionately called ‘the African child’. In pursuit of his lifelong ambition of establishing his own advertising company, he enrolled into the Ghana Institute of Journalism to study Advertising and Public Relations. Kwame was also an enthusiastic lover of football and at a point; he served as the Public Relations Officer for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club.

His death has been received with shock by his friends and fans across the globe. He left behind a wife and two daughters. He would surely be missed. May his soul rest in peace.
