Accra once again rocked to the wit and humour of some of the best comedians Africa has to offer at the Night of 1006 Laughs. Top Nigerian comedians like Okey Bakassi, Lepascious Bose, Gordons and Julius D’Genius Agwu were at the Ghana National Theatre on Saturday August 2 to crack ribs and ease tension.
There was a lot of politically incorrect humor that addressed global issues such as suicide bombing, global warming among others. The Night of Laughs and Music has become the platform where both amateur and professional comedians from all over Africa flex their ‘humor muscles’.
Twice in a year, since 2004, the Night of Laughs and Music has come to be recognized on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar as a date that cannot be missed. The events have all recorded one thing in common - laughter that reverberates throughout the auditorium as thousands of hard working Ghanaian professionals let their hairs down, sit back and allow themselves to be entertained beyond imagination. This year’s musical performances included afro-rap artist Wanlov the Kubolor.
