Up for grabs is $80,000 and a recording contract with Sony BMG records. With a honeypot this tempting it is not a surprise that the lines to audition have been winding round the buildings everywhere the judges have shown up.
Auditions have already been held in Kenya and Tanzania, and will be held in Uganda on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Tanzania seems to have drawn a particularly talented group of people, so the competition should be worth watching. Other venues are Zambia- March 16, Zimbabwe – March 20, Malawi – March 24, and Botswana -March 28. Celtel Malawi is offering a lottery process with their program called “Jump the Queue”, where you can send an SMS to 1314 with your name (for a 30 cent charge for each SMS) and they will hold a raffle of all the names on March 21, 2008. The lucky winners will get to jump the queue to go first in the Malawi auditions.

i think idols should take guys up to the age of 30, some of us can really sing but we are 28 years old, its not fair, then they should start one for instruments

I really appreciate idols Africa because it has shown the whole world that we are not just black and beautiful but talented.Angie thanks for been diplomatic when necessary. Scar please been a judge doesn’t give you the right to insult. Please note that. Africans please let us take Cynthia out….Idols is all about good vocals and not beauty.

the show is just hot.i love the host and i also think the judges are doin a good job.funny how cynthia gets all the bad reports and all the votes as well.this isnt a beauty competition so we should let her off and not put a talented persons future at stake.

Trinah is doing a good job. But she should be disstrated by Eric love. She need concetration now.
Love can come up after the show.
Angela is doing well as a judge. I do not agree with people that said she is not needed cos she not a musicain. Infact she spice up TK and Scar. Thanks

The top prize was supposed to go to Ammara or be shared between her and Trinah.now that on a sad note Ammara is gone and us to blame for not voting.lets not let this happen again coz its not about the judges, not even harsh comments from kowesa can make any impact.lets votes its us to decide.and to the player haters, why do you dis all the potential in the Idols? you keep complaining about Ammara’s contract(which she cancelled befORE THE AUDITIONS)its about time we should find some facts before we open our mouths and talk. all the best to the remaining four.

i really like Eric. This guy sings like hell! Trina is also very good and would love to see her win b/c of her background. I just see ERIC winning. No matter how AFRICA votes, ERIC will win cause he’s just too too good.
