Multiple-award winning Ghanaian film ‘Sinking Sands’ has acquired a distribution deal with IndieFlix Studios. The studio spearheaded by Whoopi Goldberg has had the actress and comedian acting as an active advisor since early 2005. It will be distributing ‘Sinking Sands’ through all major DVD outlets and Video On Demand across the US.

After months of speculations, Vodafone Ghana has confirmed that US R&B superstar Trey Songz will perform at the second edition of the annual Vodafone 020 Live Concert scheduled for the Dome of the Accra International Conference Center on September 20. Trey Songz, who is currently in South Africa for a two-day concert will join an impressive line -up of pan-African artists to thrill music lovers in Ghana.
Kevin Hart brings the laughs to Africa via a historic deal
According to sources, US-based Codeblack Entertainment and comedian Kevin Hart are about to break new ground with Kevin Hart’s new theatrical release of his new stand-up comedy feature film titled ‘Laugh At My Pain!’. According to sources, Codeblack Entertainment has just entered into a multi-year distribution deal with Silverbird Cinemas, the exclusive theater chain servicing East/West Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia).
Silverbird is the exclusive distributor for Sony (Columbia Tristar Pictures) for Nigeria and Ghana with 59 screens (and counting) throughout the territory. If this arrangement comes into fruition, CodeBlack Entertainment will be only the second American Company to start distributing films theatrically in East/West Africa while setting out to dispel the myth that black films and entertainment do not travel overseas.

The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) in London is inviting young people from around the Commonwealth, to make their voice heard on a Global Platform, through Film and Photography. In previous years, winners of the competitions have included those making a film or taking a picture for the very first time.
