Africa’s original supermodel, Iman, stunned the world with her undeniable fame and unforgettable face. Now M-Net has announced that it will partner with the company she founded for the new season of Face of Africa as IMAN Cosmetics becomes an official partner of the iconic search.
From her head office in New York, the Somali-born superstar and CEO of IMAN Cosmetics endorsed the project in a TV promo to be screened across the continent on M-Net. David Mensah out with ‘Music is The Food of Love’
UK’s new R&B sensation, David Mensah continues to rise after his song ‘Food of Love’ was released through Universal Music in 2008. ‘Food of Love’ was his contribution to a compilation album called “A Change is Gonna Come” which was recorded to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade.
Born to a Ghanaian father and a British mother, David draws from an eclectic mix of influences from all over the world when it comes to his music. He has been called the UK version of Avant while others draw comparisons to John Legend. Then again, some people have even mentioned Luther Vandross in their description of the music that he makes. “I never really go in to the studio with a set brief, I prefer to keep an open mind and let the song happen organically. Gaetano Kagwa weds his sweetheart
Gaetano Kagwa first came into the limelight when caused a stir across Africa with his sexual shenanigan with fellow housemate Abigail (South Africa) in the maiden edition of the Big Brother Africa reality TV series. As much as the viewers despised this onscreen romance, many were interested to see how it would play out once they were both out of the big brother house. Well, nothing came out of it in the end and Gaetano, who shot into overnight stardom in his home-country, Uganda has found love in that country and gotten hitched.
The Studio 53 host recently married the love of his life, Enid, in a low key ceremony on a ranch near Lake Victoria. The wedding was a very traditional affair, with lots of black and white in evidence; a colour scheme seen not only in the décor in the wedding marquee and the jewelery of the guests, but also representing the core of the culture and the family’s deep time-honoured attachment to their history. The two families took part in the elaborate and engaging ritual, called “Kwanjula”, which basically meant that the bride-to-be had to introduce her future husband and all the people escorting him to her family.

The beautiful and reigning Miss Ghana UK, Nicola Sackey embarked on a project that she had set her mind and heart to as early as at age 8. She recently launched her Eagle Sports Foundation to support the development of young athletes in Ghana.
The Eagles Sports Foundation is a charity organization which aims to discover and develop young athletes to represent Ghana at the international level in events, such as the Olympic Games, and in World Championships. According to Nicola, the foundation hopes to set up training clubs similar to those in the USA and UK, all across Ghana to facilitate the objectives of the foundation. » Read more…
