APRIL 24, 2009: BC Entertainment, in association with Jules Management & Consulting is collaborating to bring African audiences in Washington, DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia, the 1st Annual African Designers and Models Competition. The competition will be held at Zanzibar on the Waterfront, May 30, 2009. The event will showcase and award the best in African design and fashion. Designers from across the globe, even as far away as London, England are scheduled to compete in this coveted event. The winner will not only gain international bragging rights and exposure for their clothing line, but a cash prize of $2000. Designers will share the runway and the glory with fashion models from across the country. These models will compete for the opportunity to win $1000, a feature in two major African publications, and an exclusive interview with Africa in Demand, an international talk show that discusses issues that interest the African Diaspora – from politics to culture to fashion.
New and Experienced designers are encouraged to register for their chance at the grand prize. To request a registration form, email email@example.com. Models who wish to participate in the competition are advised to RSVP, but walk-ins are welcome.
