Spirit of the Diaspora Extravaganza

ADC is doing it again… On Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 7 pm, join us for the kick-off event of the year: the Spirit of the Diaspora Extravaganza. If you attended our Inaugural Ball, you won’t want to miss this. Building on the UN’s declaration of 2011 as International Year for People of African Descent, ADC has declared 2012 as “the Year of African Ascent!” This Extravaganza will be hosted at the newly remodeled Atlas Theater for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

The Spirit of the Diaspora Extravaganza is a night of culture, music, advocacy and networking with ambassadors, elected officials and community leaders. This Black Tie affair (traditional attire encouraged) will feature some of the leading artists from the African Diaspora representing Brazil, South Africa, Jamaica, Uganda and more! ADC will also be launching our ground breaking “Beyond the Vote” Initiative—to find out more, you’ll just have to be there.

Featured Speakers:
Thomas Debass, Director Global Partnerships
U.S. Department of State

Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool
Embassy of the Republic of South Africa

Ambassador Amina Salum Ali
Permanent Representative, African Union Mission, United States

Congressman Bobby Rush (Invited)
