South Africans to trump Nigerians in bid for English club

A South African consortium has tabled a bid in the region of $600m to buy Newcastle Football Club. The five-strong South African group is also keen to bring back crowd favorite Kevin Keegan as manager. Keegan may be offered a 5% stake in the club in a bid to persuade him to return for a third spell at the helm.

The South African group are considered the frontrunners and could be set to finalise a deal in a matter of weeks. This goes against earlier reports which depicted a group of Nigerian businessmen on the verge of securing a deal. The consortium was reported to have a $700m takeover fund to buy the Magpies from owner Mike Ashley, but they needed another $200m to secure the deal. But wait a minute. Rather than buy a football club, why don’t these “meaningful” Africans invest their money in ventures within African shores and remember that they are not Roman Abramovich? While the bid is impressive on paper, harsh realities still exist in that Newcastle is a club in total chaos. Watch this space.

SoulStone, a musical trio consisting of Shaun, Clint, and Lindo, are a living “musical” proof that there are still talented bands in the industry. I recall how when I first discovered these crooners , how blown away I was with their work. They are effortlessly able to deliver as one union. It’s no wonder why their single” Now That Your Love Has Gone” has become a hit. I had the opportunity to learn more about these crooners’ journey, one that I’m excited to share with you all.

Ugandan music icon falls out of hotel in Tanzania

This is a weird one! What was a chameleon doing in a hotel you wonder? Well, this wasn’t just any ordinary chameleon. Ugandan musician, Jose Chameleon, has been hospitalised in Kampala after falling from the third floor of a five-star hotel. He broke his legs in the process at Impala hotel in Arusha, Tanzania. Chameleon was in Tanzania for concerts in Arusha and Tanga where the incidence happened.

Chameleon said after performing in Tanga Saturday night, he went to Arusha where his accommodation was booked and slept as usual and does not remember what happened later. He said he was shocked when he found himself lying on the first floor, of the hotel surrounded by people who thought he was a thief…well I guess the people in Tanzania don’t watch music videos that much or perhaps couldn’t make out the Ugandan superstar because, like a chameleon, he was spotting a disguise. By the way, that’s just to make humor out of this very bizarre situation. (more…)

My mind body and soul always screaming out “pen and paper!”
And never will I ignore that calling…
From my fingers gripping the ball point pen
To the inkjet spitting out my thoughts and emotions
Onto that A4 sheet
Like a snake’s fangs spitting venom into its prey’s blood
My words are like the rush of that venom straight to your heart
Because they carry passion, emotion and struggle
So intense that they will touch your heart
Can you already feel me? (more…)
