I think that she is an inspirational woman and I love her idea behind the movie because it is something that a lot of Africans in the diaspora have to deal with.
I am also interested in screenwriting and I am driven to write about how hard it is to cope with being an African in a foreign country.

She is placed on the crossroads when it is time to go to prom. Her mother wants her to go in traditional dress, and she wants to wear something that will allow her to fit in. What does she decide to do? You will have to watch the movie to find out. Overall, the movie captures the feelings of a teenage girl stuck between two cultures. It was screened at the American Black Film Festival, got an honorable mention at Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, an honorable mention at the Director�s Guild of America, screened at the Pan African Film Festival, and was acquired by HBO to air during Black History Month. Not too shabby! Nikyatu Jusu is a gifted movie director who was 17 when she made the film in 2007.
