Chiwetel Ojiofor’s latest movie is the bio-documentary of the life of Frank Lucas. The movie documents Lucas’ rise from mobster driver to drug kingpin in Harlem, in the 196o’s. Denzel Washington stars as Lucas, and Russel Crowe is the detective that is determined to bring him down. Lucas imports drugs in the coffins of Vietnam soldiers and is ruthless in his ruling of the drug empire. This contrasts with his softer side which is shown in the way that he takes care of his family and neighborhood. A brilliant entrepreneur, he develops his own brand of heroin: Blue Magic, and builds up an extremely profitable business machine. He uses the money that he makes to develop legitimate businesses (housing developments and drycleaning services). Detective Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) is a detective with strong principles who works relentlessly to catch Lucas. American Gangster explores the similarities between Lucas and Roberts as they work to outwit each other in a great game of cat and mouse.
The movie boasts a star-studded cast including, Armand Assante, Cuba Gooding, Jr., singer, Common, Ruby Dee, and Josh Brolin. American Gangster will be in theaters on November 2, 2007.

I agree with you SEMAJ, I knew he was going down when he had front-row seats at the boxing event and the white mob was wondering how come he got better seats than them. That was really the beginning of the end. Nice movie!
