The Baltimore Women’s Film Festival (BWFF)is scheduled to take place from October 23-25 2009 at the Landmark East Theater. BWFF promotes and highlights films created by and for women. 50% of all the ticket proceeds are donated to breast cancer research and the outreach/survivorship program for Johns Hopkins breast cancer patients.
One of the films that will be shown at the festival is entitled ‘Bongfen‘. It is a story about a young woman, Bongfen, from Cameroon who comes over as a mail-order bride for a young American man, Sam. Although the marriage starts off as on an artificial footing, it quickly becomes apparent that they have many things in common.
Over time a relationship begins to develop. Will it be enough for them? ‘Bongfen’ is written and directed by Petra Sunjo. It will screen on October 25, 2009 at 5:45 p.m. Eastern Time.
