The 28-yr old London born actress of Ghanian and Iranian heritage, currently stars as Martha Jones on the British TV series Torchwood, which premiered in 2006 on the BBC.
According to her fan site, Freema is likely to make her return as Martha Jones to the fourth season of the BBC sci-fi series, Doctor Who, on April 26th. Freema is best known for her role as Jones, a medical student and doctor’s companion. Torchwood is a spin-off of Doctor Who.
Doctor Who originally ran from 1963-1989 and is credited as the longest-running sci-fi TV show all over the world, achieving cult status. The show relaunched in 2005 and has garnered praise as well as the BAFTA Award for Best Drama Series in 2006.
