Talk about a man of many characters, from his role in Daddy’s little girl, American Gangster, This Christmas, The Gospel and now, Prom Night. Our very beloved Idris Elba plays the role of detective Winn in search of a school teacher who’s turned into an obsessed killer. He is after a group of high school kids in an attempt to get revenge on their prom night. Idris Elba’s persona and his phenomenal skills made the this scary movie worth it.

I must say I’ve seen Idris in various roles but every time he takes up a serious and edgy character like the one he plays on Prom Night, I think of nothing else but wonder if he ever was a detective in his past life. For those who question the quality of scary movies today, go watch Prom Night and Idris Elba will make it all worth it. Prom Night comes out April 11, 2008 in theaters near you.
