Lupita Nyong’o up for two BAFTA awards
Lupita Nyong’o is having a banner season. She has already been nominated for several awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and two Screen Actors Guild Awards including Best Supporting Actress.
‘12 Years A Slave’ has been nominated for an impressive 11 awards including Adapted Screenplay, Original Film Music, Film Director, Production Design, Editing and Best Film. Chiwetel Ejiofor has been nominated for the Leading Actor award for his role in ‘12 Years A Slave’.
Lupita is currently nominated for two British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards–EE Rising Star Award, and the Supporting Actress award. This award honors a “young actor or actress who has demonstrated brilliant talent and ambition,” and is quite prestigious an honor.
She is running against Dane Dehaan, Will Poulter, George MacKay and Léa Seydoux.She has already won the New Hollywood Award for her role. In order to win the Rising Star Award, she needs to get votes from the public. You can submit your vote on the Bafta website. Voting started January 6, 2014 and ends February 14, 2014!
