Dear Editor,

I am grateful for your kind words in your article.

Please note that my name is not Stanley. My name has appeared as Stanislaw (the Polish form) Barua on occassion. However, Stan Barua - not Stanley Barua - is correct and sufficient.

I was again honoured with a nomination for the Gemini awards in 2007. This time it was for Best Photography in a Comedy, Variety or Performing Arts Program or Series (for an episode of "The TO Variety Show"). I am currently engaged as director of photography on the paranormal detective series "Psychic Investigators" broadcast on A&E in the United States, on W in Canada, and on Biography in the UK.

My director/producer brother Jakub Barua was Festival Director of the Zanzibar International Film Festival. His film "Shades of Poland", however, was not the film which turned the spotlight onto us. Rather it was the earlier "Forgotten Places" (a film on the history and myths of the Swahili coast of Kenya, produced with Polish producer Kronika Film Studios, and screened at numerous festivals), as well as our short drama "The Rider", the documentary poem "The Welcoming", and Jakub's work on large sections of the epic recreation of Amelia Earhart's flight around the globe in the InCA California production of "No Limits" that got us noticed. "Shades of Poland" came later. Jakub's latest film "My daddy was a cavalryman" - another history documentary several years in the making - was broadcast on Polish TVP1 in September 2007. I was director of photography on this film.

Thank you.
