Thandie Newton’s latest movie, Run, Fat Boy, Run, is slated to open in theaters on March 28, 2008. She plays a jilted pregnant bride, Libby, who’s husband-to-be, Dennis (Simon Pegg), runs out on her on the day of their wedding. Years later he comes back and realizes that he still loves her. She, however, has moved on and is dating a young man, Whit (Hank Azaria), who is great with her son, and very accomplished.
Dennis doesn’t like it and tries to find a way to win back her heart. Unfortunately everything he touches doesn’t seem to turn into gold like Whit does. His is more like a cold lump of coal. Desperate to show that he too can accomplish something, Dennis announces that he will run, and finish, the London Marathon. The movie is directed by David Schwimmer who some will remember as Ross in the television hit sitcom, Friends.
Thandie Newton is the child of a Zimbabwean mother and British father. She has been featured in several movies including (but not limited to), Mission Impossible II, Crash, Flirting, Norbit, The Pursuit of Happyness, American Dad, The Chronicles of Riddick, and The Truth About Charlie. She has also just completed her latest project, RocknRolla, slated for release soon. She is married to Ol Parker and they have one child.
