Madiba and Sipho live in poverty in a South African township. They stumble across a dead body during one of their afternoons of play. After searching the body for belongings Sipho immediately takes to the gun and Madiba is drawn to the camera.
Madiba becomes a budding film maker and Sipho uses his gun (which only has one bullet) to terrorize and rob anyone who crosses his path that doesn’t agree with him, even his ‘brother’ Madiba.
The boys meet Estelle who from the outside looks like she has everything they dream of. She has wealthy parents, a maid, and a mansion. But reality is that despite what it seems Estelle feels like an outsider in ger rich world.
The Wooden Camera gives us brilliant performances by child actors Junior Singo, Innocent Msimango, Dana de Agrella, Lisa Peterson, and Nicholas Jara. More importantly The Wooden Camera takes us on a journey that shows us how young people deal with the cards they are dealt.

I watched this movie last year…fantastic acting from the Kids….
