Director Michael Skolnik (On the Outs) directs this honest documentary that examines the last ruling monarchy in Africa. Without the King examines the life of King Mswati the III of Swaziland and highlights how out of touch he really is with his subjects. He lives an opulent life while his country sports the world’s highest HIV infection rate, and an overwhelming poverty rate.
The film offers an unprecedented insight with Princess Sikhanyiso, King Mswati himself, as well as many Swazi citizens who are plotting his downfall.
The film opens on April 25th at the Quad Cinemas in NYC. For more information visit Myspace page
