Jamati.com had the extreme pleasure to attend the annual Cameroonian Cultural Festival this past weekend and it was an event like no other because it is an annual event that focuses on the ethnic diversity in Cameroon from a cultural perspective. During the festival each province and ethnic group has an opportunity to showcase their individual culture by performing various dances using traditional songs. What makes this event so unique is that each and every group is encouraged by their fellow countrymen and it makes for a wonderful experience in unity and cultural pride.
Another important component of the festival is the children’s fashion show which in this writer’s opinion is the highlight of the evening because it encourages the next generation to celebrate their cultural pride.
The Festival is organized by the All Cameroonian Cultural Development Foundation and they are a group of individuals who dedicated their time, energy and resources to improving the social and economic conditions of Cameroonians in the Diaspora as well as at home.
