When you listen to Arthur Simeon, you expect to get the usual run of the mill African-comdey fare–people asking dumb questions, comparing Africa to the diaspora, etc., but Arthur Simeon brings the topics up with a unique twist. Therein lies his strength as a comedian.
Simeon is intelligent and side-splitting funny, with humor that makes you connect to his experience as an African in the diaspora. It doesn’t alienate anyone and embraces aspects of different cultures to create that experience that is unique to all sides of the coin. In 2007 he was the youngest headliner of the All Black Comedy show in Toronto. As the host of Princes of Comedy, he is carving out a niche for himself.
