Celebrity Sightings

The 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival brought out some great talent including Jean-Marie Teno, the Cameroonian director who was screening his film, Sacred Places.  Jonathan Amayo from Mode-HQ was on hand to answer technical questions during the Tech Talk segment of the festival.  TV personality, Sal Masekela showed his support for musician Bill Withers during his performance with his wife, Kori.

Nollywood is making its mark in Hollywood with movies highlighting the making of Nollywood movies, and programs that celebrate the industry. Samir Malla, Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen and Ben Addelman were in a photoshoot for Nollywood Babylon at the Sundance.

Former tennis star, Boris Becker, married Sharlely Kerssenberg in St Moritz, Switzerland and Boris Kodjoe and his wife Nicole Parker were there to celebrate the occasion (Boris Kodjoe used to play tennis professionally).

Miss Africa USA (probably the second most busy female after Estelle…she is everywhere too) was spotted at L.L. Kool J’s Second Annual Pay It Fashion Forward Party.  Speaking of Estelle, she was spotted at the 8th Annual Four Seasons Of Hope Gala with her buddy, John Legend, who performed with her for the benefit.

The movies have been loving our African actors and actresses.  Gbenga Akinnagbe plays a hero in the film, The Taking of Pelham 123, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje showed up for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. Chiwetel Ejiofor will be starring opposite sexy Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber in the movie, Salt.
