Diaspora Interactive Media (parent company of Jamati.com) recently witnessed the birth of Amaris Akua Bangura Worae described as “Our First Jamati Baby.” Born to “Gorgeous Black Woman” Roxana Bangura ( Jamati Events Director). Amaris is already showcasing mom’s style and flavor.
According to published reports from Roxana, little Ms. Amaris “ looks like her Mother of course complete with one dimple from Derek..lol! The name Amaris is derived from the Hebrew name of Amariah which means ‘God has said’ or ‘word of God’. We fell in love with the meaning and we decided that this would be the name of our child.”
Please join us in welcoming little Miss Amaris who was born August 27, 2008 in Laurel, Maryland. Roxana, and Derek are fine -as they enjoy birth celebrations that reflect their Sierra Leoneon, Gambian, and Ghanian heritage.
Note: We did not post photos of Amaris out of respect (for Grandma) and some traditional beliefs of the ancestors.
