Visual Artist, Dawn Okoro, Chats With Jamati About Her Work

 Dawn Okoro is an artist whose work has made such an impact that several celebrities have commissioned her to paint for them.  These celebrities include Erykah Badu; Victoria’s Secret model, Nichole Robinson; and Shaun Robinson of Access Hollywood.  She has won three Golden Keys and the American Visions Honor in the Scholastic Art Awards. By age 18, Dawn Okoro’s art was displayed in the Texas State Capitol building.   Her brother’s autism has helped fuel her drive to use her art to help children with developmental disabilities.  Jamati.com is excited to be able to share this talented lady with you.

Malawi’s Top Musicians Come Face to Face

Malawian top  song stars will come face to face in Lilongwe on Sunday as Malawi’s top arts group, Words Art and Pictures (WAPi), supports the launch of ‘Umayitha’ (you know how to do it), by Biriwiri, one of the rising Malawian hip hop groups.

Vicky Michael is a computer science student at the University of Science and Technology who also happens to be a model.  She was discovered her first year in China by a gentleman who approached her to ask if she had modeled before.  Although she was apprehensive initially, she agreed to model and found that she was quite successful at it.

Jennifer Victoria Koranteng, a 22 year old Psychology Major graduate of the University of Ghana, has been selected as Miss Universe Ghana 2009 in a closed-pageant held at the La Palm Royal Hotel in Accra. The beautiful and intelligent young lady will represent Ghana at the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant to be held in the beautiful Paradise Island in the Bahamas, on August 23 2009.

Beenie Man Set to Perform in East Africa

Beenie Man is going to be performing in East Africa in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, and Kampala, Uganda.  Unfortunately for the folks in Kenya, no shows are scheduled.   His performance in Uganda is slated for June 30 2009.

Beenie Man Hemdee Kiwanuka, the CEO of No-End Entertainment is the person instrumental in bringing Beenie Man to East Africa.  Although no shows have been scheduled for Kenya, there is still a possibility that he can perform in Kenya, if a Kenyan promoter would be interested in partnering with Kiwanuka. » Read more…
