Jamati sends it’s condolences to the family of actress Vashti Jones who passed away in Ghana on June 17, 2008 from complications due to a sinus and cold infection.
Vashti Jones was (aka Cecily, Nanayah) was born on April 17, 1980 in Liberia. She was in Ghana finishing the shoot of her new movie “Playing Games“, with co-stars Van Vicker, Jackie Appiah, and Nadia Buari. The movie is scheduled to be released next month. She cameoed in three other Ghanian movies while she was there.
She played the leading role in “Chosen Paths“, a script that she had written, and was leading the charge against HIV/AIDS with her foundation “The Vashti Jones Foundation”. She also was passionate about helping orphans. “Chosen Paths” was based on a true story and focused on the effect of HIV/AIDS in the African-American community.
Rest In Peace Vashti Jones. You will be sorely missed!
