Abbass Kubaff a.k.a. Doobeez

Abbas Kubaff aka Doobeez was born in Nairobi, Kenya in Eastleigh, a rough neighborhood in Nairobi, Kenya. He grew up in Kariobangi, South (K-South) and showed an early interest in music.

His big moment came when he performed at Club Florida 2000 at their jam session. The attention he got allowed him to open up for Lost Boys, Coolio, and Maxi Priest. In Europe he opened for The Spooks, and Arrested Development.

He won the star search second hit in 1995 and released his first album, Nairobbery, in 1999 (it has sold over 300,000 copies so far). His second album, Nairobizm, sold over 1 million copies and was used to launch his 2004 European tour. 2006 saw the release of Angabanga which had recorded sales of 40,000 in Nairobi and Mombasa by February of 2007. He raps in Swahili, English and Sheng (a mix of English and local languages).
