Alaché – A Gospel Singer with A Vision

Alaché is a gospel singer who produced her first full length album “You’re my world” under the helm of Nigerian recording superstar Panam Percy Paul. she has now teamed up with vocal coach and producer, Gerry Williams, who’s literally worked with every major pop star birthed from that highly fertile scene (including Mandy Moore, O-Town, LFO, Raven, Aaron Carter, Jordan Knight, Stacie Orrico and Jump).

AlacheJamati:  What was it that inspired you to get into gospel music?

My life is the inspiration behind my music. Everything that happens in and around my world and the people around me… I come from a Christian background and my faith sees me through life…. So its only natural that my belief is reflected in my music….

Jamati:  Do you think that you might want to also do some secular songs, or are you strictly going to concentrate on contemporary Christian Music?

I would rather say mainstream than secular, and that to me just basically means a broader audience outside the Christian market. That being said, yes I would definitely consider mainstream as long as the message is positive and inspirational… Or better yet if affects a cause…. Nothing vulgar…..

Jamati:  How would you describe the climate for gospel/Christian music in Africa as opposed to the Diaspora?

I think its a growing market in Africa, but am yet to understand the African market….. For now, [I]am not in a position to make comments or comparisons….

Jamati: Tell us a little bit about your latest project?

My latest project is definitely my most heartfelt… I listen to it for inspiration myself….. It will definitely appeal to both the Christian and mainstream markets….. Am talking bout everything from heartbreak, to relationships and hope….. You definitely want to get this when it comes out.

Jamati:  Are there any plans to team up with any other gospel artists to work on collaborations?

Most definitely I the near future…. Keep checking up on me for updates….. Its something am definitely looking into…..

Jamati: Where can your fans see you in concert?

In a city near them very soon… We’re working and putting dates together…. Please visit my website and MySpace page for updates….. we’ll update them as we confirm dates…. To hint at them, I’ll be playing dates in the African and European markets… I’ll be back in the States in 2009…..
