American Idol has some singers who are already standing out. Chikezie repped Africa, singing his heart out in style. Much as I love orange, I was glad he didn’t have the orange suit on this time. Of course, with his voice, it is easy to look past the suit to his tremendous talent. His song choice, ‘I believe to my soul‘, worked very well for him, allowing him to work the stage and give a commanding performance. He did a great job, and we look forward to seeing him in the next round.
David Archuleta, the young boy with the man’s voice, tore up his song. He is clearly the judges favorite, but is he America’s? It remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, he is going to be there for the long haul (plus the girls really seem to love him…can’t hurt).
Danny Noriega’s performance got a lukewarm reception from the judges as did the performances by Luke Menard, Robbie Carrico, and Jason Yeager. Michael Johns, David Cook, and David Hernandez got a better reception, but it’s anyone’s guess who moves on from this group.
