MTV African and telecommunication company Zain, have proudly released in a statement that Nairobi, Kenya will be home to the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards. The event will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Indoor Arena at the Moi International Sports Center with 1 billion viewers around the world expected to watch.
Alex Okosi, the senior vice president and managing director of the MTV networks, Africa said that “as a vibrant and influential cultural hub, the city of Nairobi will form a brilliant backdrop to the MAMA awards and ensure that the second edition of the awards will be a truly unforgettable experience. The second edition of the MAMA will bring together big names from different walks of life in celebration of all the African hopefuls nominated that night.
