Jonathan Butler takes Fans On A Moonlight Cruise
The Spirit of New York Jazz moonlight cruise series brought on board the Grammy nominated songwriter, guitarist and singer Jonathan Butler to the stage at sea. The multi-level cruise ship was filled with an after work crowd rocking to the jazzy tunes of Butler and band on July 27th, a rainy Wednesday evening. The paparazzi were front and center as the audience listened to Jonathan’s melodies and remained engaged with his intrinsic guitar skills.

David Mensah out with ‘Music is The Food of Love’
UK’s new R&B sensation, David Mensah continues to rise after his song ‘Food of Love’ was released through Universal Music in 2008. ‘Food of Love’ was his contribution to a compilation album called “A Change is Gonna Come” which was recorded to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade.
Born to a Ghanaian father and a British mother, David draws from an eclectic mix of influences from all over the world when it comes to his music. He has been called the UK version of Avant while others draw comparisons to John Legend. Then again, some people have even mentioned Luther Vandross in their description of the music that he makes. “I never really go in to the studio with a set brief, I prefer to keep an open mind and let the song happen organically. John Legend and Keri Hilson to invade South Africa
Thanks to Twitter for the immediate news release. John Legend has confirmed his South African tour, scheduled to take place in mid-October 2009. It will start off in Cape Town, then on to Johannesburg, and end in Durban.

Tay Grin In UK to Promote New Album
Malawian hip-hop sensation, Tay Grin’s music mesmerised many Malawians who gathered at London’s Club Afrique last Friday and Saturday, according to the rapper.
Grin, who missed out on Malawi’s Big Brother Africa II’s (BBA II) representative, CODE Sangala’s Kapirintiya launch of the Tradistic Soul album (attended the same evening at the Fresh Cultural Center in Blantyre, Malawi. It was attended by two other BBA II representatives–Bertha and Maxwell), is in the UK to promote his new album that launches in Blantyre on August 7. He told the BBC Network Africa on Tuesday that he respected the way the fans responded to his two shows in the UK.
