Sauti Sol is a Kenyan band that has been performing professionally since 2005.

Band members, Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Delvin Mudigi and Polycarp Otieno met in high school and were inspired from Fadhili Williams, Daudi Kabaka, Salif Keita and Lokua Kanza.
In 2006 they were finalists of the Spotlight on Kenyan Music, produced two popular albums–‘Mwanzo‘ (2008) and ‘Sol Filosofia‘ (2011), performed with Ladysmith Black Mambazo in 2011, and performed in the prestigious South By Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas in March 2011. They also won two Kisima Music Awards for Best Afro-Fusion Group, and Best Music Video (“‘Coming Home‘).
2012 was a banner year for them. Their song ‘Shukuru’, with Tanzanian rapper, AY, won East Africa’s Most Gifted Music Video at the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards. They also won an award for Best Collaboration at the Kenyan Chaguo La Teeniez (CHAT) Awards.
