Taio Cruz was born to a Nigerian father and Brazilian mother, and raised in London, England. The founder and C.E.O. of Rokstarr Music London which, in 2006 released his debut single “I Just Wanna Know“, he also signed a joint-venture partnership deal with UMusic Companies, Republic Records, and Island Records.
He has worked with several big names including Omar, Nitin Sawhney, Wookie and Will Young and co-wrote “Your Game” with Will Young and Blair MacKichan. The song went multiplatinum and won Best British Single at the Brit Awards. Simon Cowell thinks he is talented and hired him to write songs for Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward.
Taio Cruz has a new album, “Departure“, that was released in March of this year, is working on music for Sugababes, Letoya Luckett, and The Pussycat Dolls. He is also working with Jim Beanz on new music for Britney Spears, Brandy and Justin Timberlake.
