Young Nations was born in South Central L.A. to South African parents. The son of an activist, he became actively involved in numerous organizations focused on global youth empowerment. Nations helped organize one of the largest protests against apartheid in Los Angeles, and was one the youngest members of Children of War, a non-profit organization of young refugees from war torn countries around the world.
His trip to South Africa in 1989 made a strong impression on him had a great influence on his subsequent musical journey. His initial recordings were under the name K.A.S.H. (Kept Under Africa’s Sublime Hold) and he opened for Ice Cube, Coolio, Zap & Roger, Rappin4Tay and the Lynch Mob in 1995.
Toward the end of 2003, Young Nations returned to the U.S. to begin recording his debut album, “Nations Uprising” with Grammy Nominated super-producer Megahertz. Megahertz powerful production style was a perfect match for Nations’ heavy vocal tone.
His album, “Nations Uprising” was a hit. He is currently in Durban South Africa. You can visit his myspace page for more information.
